Hospital LPN Hourly Rates Increase in 2010

Oakland, NJ, August 2010 -- The national hourly average of Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) increased 2.19% from 2009 to 2010, according to the 2010-2011 Hospital Salary & Benefits Report, just released by Hospital & Healthcare Compensation Service (HCS). This figure is a comparison of hospitals across the nation that reported data for both the 2009 and 2010 Reports.

2010-2011 Hospital Salary & Benefits Report

The planned percent increase for LPN’s declined slightly for the period 6/1/2010 to 5/31/2011 to 2.48%, compared with last year’s planned increase of 3.00%.  The actual percent increase reported for the period 6/1/2009 to 5/31/2010 was 2.76% for LPN’s.

538 hospitals participated in the study and provided compensation data on more than 204,921 employees nationwide.  The Report covers 153 hospital positions including management, nursing, rehabilitation, dietary, radiology and technical positions.  Data are reported according to revenue size, bed-size, geographic region and state.  Also covered are 12 fringe benefits, turnover rates by department, and projected salary increases for 2010 to 2011.  Data are effective as of May 2010.
