HOSPITALIST SALARIES SHOW INCREASE IN 2011

April 2011, Oakland, NJ--The national salary (50th percentile) of Hospitalists increased 3.62% to $202,258 according to the 2011 Physician Salary & Benefits Report, just published by Hospital & Healthcare Compensation Service (HCS).  This figure represents total compensation and includes base pay and bonus pay combined.  It is exclusive of additional benefits data.

333 hospitals and group practice facilities reported data covering more than 28,295 physicians.  Chief of Staff/Medical Director, 45 physician specialties, interns, and residents are covered in the 2011 Physician Salary & Benefits Report.  Data are reported separately for Hospital-based and Group Practice physicians, and are analyzed according to nine regions, by state, by control type, by teaching or non-teaching status, and by facility size.  The Report also includes 19 fringe benefits.
