Assisted Living LPNs Show Hourly Increase
Oakland, NJ, January 2011 -- The national average hourly rate of Assisted Living LPNs is $19.80 according to the 13th annual Assisted Living Salary & Benefits Report, just published by Hospital & Healthcare Compensation Service (HCS). The percent increase was 1.02% for LPNs in facilities reporting data from both the 2009 and 2010 Reports. The Report is published in cooperation with LeadingAge (formerly aahsa) and supported by the National Center for Assisted Living.
Vacancy rates for LPNs showed a marked decrease, dropping 6.27% over the previous year. Turnover rates also fell 0.89%. The table below illustrates the difference in turnover and vacancy rates:

1,694 Assisted Living facilities participated in the study and provided compensation data on more than 70,439 employees nationwide. 1,585 for-profit and 109 not-for-profit facilities provided data for the study.
The Report covers 16 management and 24 nonmanagement positions. Data are reported according to for‑profit and not-for-profit status, revenue size, unit-size, state, county, and geographic region. Also covered are 22 fringe benefits, turnover rates by department, and projected salary increases for 2011. Data are effective as of October 2010.
